About Rapid Record

Overview

The anesthesia record will not fit on a single computer screen. Instead, it is divided into 11 individual ‘tabbed’ screens. Each tab represents a specific portion of the anesthesia record and can be accessed in a variety of ways depending on user preference. At the bottom of the computer screen there are 20 command buttons that facilitate commonly performed functions. For example, pressing the ‘Start Anesthesia’ button when the patient is brought into the OR, records the anesthesia start time and automatically enters a previously defined arrival comment. Requirements

CPU - Any PC based computer at 500Mhz (or better) with 256 MB RAM

I recommend either ‘small form’ desktop or a notebook computer.

Operating System - Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 Release , Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4. For the automated version, you will also need Internet Explorer 6.0 or better. Vista will probably work, but has not been tested and is not supported.

Video - 1024 x 768 screen resolution

Rapid Record will not work with a lower resolution. The newer computers are all coming through with this higher resolution capability.

Printer- Any laser printer with 600 dpi resolution

Anything less than 8 PPM is too slow for use in the operating room.

Hard Drive -100 MB of free space if you intend to archive your cases.

The picture below, shows the hardware setup at my hospital. The program will also work on your notebook computer.
